Yoga Nidra which means “yogic sleep” is a relaxation/meditation technique that brings you to a deep state of relaxation while you are in a relaxed state of awareness, lying on your mat in the studio in stillness. The teacher will use a soothing voice to guide you through visualizations to systematically relax each part of your physical, emotional, and mental body in order to bring you to a deep relaxed and rested state of being. Yoga Nidra enables you to gain deep rest so that you can feel recharged and rejuvenated. Research suggests that at least 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 3-4 hours of REM sleep. This practice is suitable for everyone.
